Ho Chi Minh City enhances cooperation with Singaporean partners

Ho Chi Minh City and Singapore hold a lot of room for cooperation, especially in the fields of investment, education-training, culture and public administration reform, contributing to promoting the development of the diplomatic relations between the two countries.

So said Nguyen Van Nen, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee when he received Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Policies Heng Swee Keat, on September 15.

During the reception, Mr. Nguyen Van Nen shared the difficulties caused by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the efforts of Ho Chi Minh City in economic recovery and development. He also highly appreciated the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat, affirming that Singapore is a country with a developed economy and high-quality human resources for cooperation and development.

Deputy Prime Minister Heng Swee Keat spoke highly of the efforts of the Government of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 pandemic, and economic development, expressing his wish that Ho Chi Minh City and Singaporean localities would strengthen cooperation in the coming time. He added he hoped that Ho Chi Minh City would further promote cooperation in the development of the aviation sector to promote tourism development; and development of sea routes for goods transport./.
