Lang Son promotes cooperative relationship with Korean localities

Chairman of the Lang Son Provincial People's Committee Ho Tien Thieu has expressed his hope that Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Park Noh Wan would continue to support, promote and introduce the effective investment and operation environment of Lang Son Province to Korean businesses.

He made the statement during his reception for a delegation from the Korean Embassy in Vietnam led by Ambassador Park Noh Wan, on July 20.

At the meeting, Chairman thanked Mr. Park Noh Wan for his interest in Lang Son Province, saying that Ambassador Park Noh Wan's visit to the province is even more important on the occasion that the two countries will organize activities to celebrate the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations (1992 - 2022).

According to Chairman Thieu, Lang Son Province has developed cooperation with RoK’s Gangwon Province; signed a memorandum of understanding with the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) on a capacity building program. Accordingly, KOICA supported the organization of capacity building training courses for officials of Lang Son Province in the RoK. Regarding trade and investment cooperation, Lang Son Province has actively promoted, mobilized and attracted Korean investment capital in fields such as infrastructure, logistics services, agriculture and forestry, and tourism.

Ambassador Park Noh Wan highly appreciated the socio-economic development of the province, as well as the potential and advantages of Lang Son Province such as border economy, trade, tourism and human resources. He also expressed his wish to continue contributing to promoting closer cooperation relations between Lang Son Province and some Korean localities.

The two sides basically agreed on a number of contents to continue implementing in the coming time.

Previously, the delegation of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam went to survey the reality of goods import and export activities at the Huu Nghi International Border Gate and Dong Dang International Railway Station./.
