Lao press praises great friendship and special solidarity with Vietnam

The Vientiane May newspaper on October 6 published an article "Looking back at the cooperative relationship between Laos and Vietnam", which stated that the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Laos on October 4 held a meeting with the topic "Laos - Vietnam cooperative relationship in the year of solidarity 2022 and some outstanding regional and international situations".

Attending this activity were Mr. Somsavath Lengsavath, a former Politburo member of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party and former Deputy Prime Minister; Ms. Khamchanh Vongsenboun, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment of Laos; representatives of leaders of the Lao National Statistics Center; Vice Chairman of the Laos - Vietnam Cooperation Committee and a large number of officials and employees of the Lao Ministry of Planning and Investment.
The article quoted Somsavath Lengsavath as saying that the Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year in 2022 and the celebration of the 60th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties and 45 years since the signing of the Vietnam-Laos Treaty of Amity and Cooperation is a chance for the Lao side to express its gratitude to the Party, State and people of Vietnam for giving Laos great help during the struggle for independence in the past and current national defence and construction of Laos.
The article underlined the significance of the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. Since the Communist Party of Indochina was born in 1930, founded by President Ho Chi Minh, the comradeship and brotherhood between the two countries has become increasingly close. Over the past 60 years, Laos and Vietnam have always stood by each other to fight their common enemies and overcome all challenges. The Laos - Vietnam cooperation has become an indispensable and objective relationship and plays an important role in deciding the victory of the two peoples' revolutions.
It also affirmed that the great friendship and special solidarity between Laos and Vietnam should be preserved and promoted with better values for the future and forever interests of the two Parties, the two States and two peoples./.
