Mexican businesses seek cooperation opportunities with Vietnamese businesses

Assistant of the Vietnamese Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu has affirmed that Vietnam always attaches great importance to and wishes to further strengthen the friendship and multifaceted cooperation with Mexico; and expressed his delight at the encouraging developments of the two countries' relations over the past time.

He made the statement on November 28 during his reception for a delegation from Mexico led by Mr. Miguel Angel Landeros, Honorary Consul of Vietnam to Jalisco and Colima States, Mexico.

During the reception, Mr. Vu welcomed Mr. Miguel Angel Landeros and the the delegation of leaders of the Mexican Business Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology, and businesses from Jalisco State to Vietnam.

He showed his confidence that the visit will contribute to the development of the Vietnam-Mexico bilateral relationship in general, as well as the expansion of economic cooperation in new fields.

Currently, Mexico is Vietnam's second largest trading partner in Latin America, with trade exchange maintaining a strong increase year by year. Mechanisms of the Joint Committee on Economic, Trade and Investment Cooperation, and Political Consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs have been maintained regularly and effectively. The two countries have maintained close cooperation at international organizations and at multilateral forums, especially at the United Nations. The two countries are members of multilateral economic forums such as APEC and WTO.

Mr. Vu acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of the Honorary Consulate to strengthening the Vietnam-Mexico cooperative relationship in many fields such as supporting the Vietnamese Embassy in Mexico and delegations of Vietnamese ministries and enterprises to Mexico to meet leaders, ministries and branches of Jalisco State; organizing business forums, seminars and business connections between the two countries; providing information on Vietnam and the Vietnam-Mexico relations to the Jalisco State authority and Mexican businesses, and promoting Mexican and Jalisco State media to report on the Vietnamese country, people and economic achievements, as well as potential and opportunities for Vietnam-Mexico cooperation

On this occasion, he thanked the Honorary Consul for supporting the construction, maintenance and promotion of the value of the monument of President Ho Chi Minh, built and inaugurated on September 14, 2018 at the International Friendship Center in Guadalajara City, Jalisco State.

Honorary Consul Miguel Angel Landeros said that he and the delegation of the Mexican Business Council on Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology and businesses from Jalisco State visited and studied the Vietnamese market.

With good words about the country and people of Vietnam, he affirmed that he will continue to do his best in strengthening the Vietnam-Mexico cooperation, especially in promoting links for the two countries’ businesses’ cooperation./.
