In the first 7 months of this year, nearly 57,000 Vietnamese labourers went to work abroad under contracts, reaching about 63% of the year's plan, the Overseas Labourers Management Department under the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs.

In July alone, more than 10,200 labourers went to work abroad.

The Overseas Labourers Management Department and related agencies have put on training sessions for a number of programs to send highly skilled labourers to work abroad.

Specifically, more than 150 candidates for nurses and midwives class 9 have left the country to continue studying and working in Japan. These candidates have completed a domestic Japanese training course and met the requirements of the program to send Vietnamese nursing assistant candidates to work in Japan within the framework of the Vietnam – Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA).

Thus, after about 10 years of implementation, the EPA program has brought nearly 1,700 candidates to work in Japanese hospitals and eldercare facilities.

In addition, there is a project to bring Vietnamese nurses to study and work in Germany (Triple Win project). The project is implemented on the basis of the signing of a tripartite cooperation agreement between the Overseas Labourers Management Department, the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the Center for Employment Introduction and Human Resources Abroad belonging to the German Federal Labour Agency.

Starting to be implemented in Vietnam from mid-2019, the program has been extended to 2025.

In the near future, the group of students who have completed the German language course and meet the conditions will leave the country to start a three-year general nursing vocational training course.

With enrollment widespread across the country, this year's Triple Win project selected 150 candidates to start taking German classes. They will receive the best language training and preparation in Vietnam, with the goal of going to Germany to attend a vocational training course in 2023.

Previously, the first batch of trainees to leave the country from 2020 had completed two-thirds of the apprenticeship./.
