At the meeting, Vo Van Thuong expressed his pleasure to visit the RoK on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and discussed achievements in Vietnam after 35 years of renewal, COVID-19 prevention, socio-economic development and recovery over the past time.
He highly appreciated the comprehensive and effective development of the two countries' relations, affirming that the Party and State of Vietnam attach great importance to continuing to develop the two countries' relations to a new height.
He made proposals to strengthen the two countries' relations, including enhancing the exchange of high-level delegations, developing relations between the Communist Party of Vietnam and Korean political parties, and expanding cooperation between the two countries’ ministries, branches and localities as well as people-to-people exchanges, promoting investment of Korean enterprises in Vietnam, paying attention to technology transfer and developing supporting industries, developing bilateral trade in the direction of balance, expanding labour cooperation, and paying attention to Vietnamese citizens.
Prime Minister Han Duck-soo assessed the visit to the RoK of the Vietnamese delegation on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries as showing the profound and comprehensive development of the two countries' relations.
Appreciating Vietnam's development achievements, affirming that the RoK considers Vietnam the focus of the RoK's policy towards ASEAN, the Korean Prime Minister agreed with the proposals raised by Mr. Vo Van Thuong, and emphasized that cooperation with Vietnam has become a model in cooperation with developing countries, and expressed the wish that the two sides continue to further promote bilateral relations.
On the same day, the Vietnamese official also received and held working sessions with representatives from the Korea Foundation (KF), the Vietnam-Korea Eminent Persons Group (EPG), and the Korea-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, during which participants discussed directions to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the RoK, and relations between people's organisations of the two sides.
The Vietnamese delegation also visited the Vietnamese Embassy in the RoK, and met representatives of the Vietnamese community in the country./.
