Strengthening Vietnam - Korea cultural exchange in Da Lat

(CPV) - Accompanying the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and the People's Committee of Lam Dong province will organize the 2024 Korean Cultural Day in Da Lat from 08:00 - 21:00 on December 13 at Lam Vien Square, Da Lat city.

The program will be implemented by the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam (Director Choi Seung Jin) and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province with the support of the Korea Institute for Design and Craft Promotion, the Korea Tourism Organization Office in Vietnam, the Korea Creative Content Agency Office in Vietnam and the Korea Copyright Protection Agency Office in Vietnam.

The event aims to enhance cultural exchange between the two countries in localities with great development potential in Vietnam and known to many Koreans such as Da Lat city located on Lam Vien plateau, Lam Dong province.

The program opens with a kimjang experience or collective Korean kimchi salting culture using Da Lat vegetables at 8:00 a.m. with the participation of about 200 people.

The exhibition booth area will be open from 09:00 to 21:00 with many diverse and attractive activities such as experiencing wearing hanbok, experiencing making Korean handmade kites, flying kites using virtual reality technology, experiencing K-pop and interesting Korean creative content, learning about Korean tourism and Korean copyright, and experiencing culture, tourism and Da Lat products.

In particular, the Vietnam - Korea cultural and artistic exchange music night from 19:00 to 21:00 promises to bring deep and meaningful artistic emotions through extremely impressive, vibrant and unique performances by Korean B-boy group SDG Crew, Korean girl group Queen, singer Trung Quan, K-pop dance group Cover Dance Lucifer Project and artists from Da Lat City Cultural Center.

Da Lat is currently a favorite destination for many domestic and foreign tourists, especially Koreans, not only because of its climate, landscape and people, but also because of its many unique tourism and cultural products.

According to Mr. Choi Seung Jin, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, Da Lat is both a city of thousands of flowers that attracts tourists and a UNESCO creative city in the field of music. Accompanying the 10th Da Lat Flower Festival, the Korean Cultural Day program in Da Lat in 2024 will be an interesting stop for tourists, and at the same time an activity that contributes to further enhancing cultural exchange between Korea and Vietnam in the city of thousands of flowers of Lam Dong province.

Meanwhile, Mr. Tran Thanh Hoai, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lam Dong province, assessed this event as an open cultural diplomacy activity, creating more understanding as well as exchanging the unique values of Korea with Da Lat - Lam Dong./.
