During the meeting, Mr. Binh said that over the past years, Thai Nguyen Province has been carrying out a cooperative project with Thailand on developing sustainable community in Yen Lac Commune, Phu Luong District. Accordingly, the two sides coordinated to organize a training course for 7 local community officials and farmers to participate in direct training in Thailand from May 12-24, 2019. Thai experts trained local farmers to improve the lives of the poor through the implementation of income-raising activities; built models of rural environmental protection to ensure sustainable development goals; and enhanced the value of local products and specialties in the development of community tourism.

According to Mr. Binh, Thai Nguyen has supported and created the most favorable conditions within the legal framework for Central Retail Group, one of the largest retailers in Vietnam, to do business in the food and non-food sectors, in investing in a project to build the 38th GO! trade center and hypermarket on a total area of 36,000 square meters, using VND540 billion. This is the largest and most modern project of the group in Vietnam.

He hoped to continue to receive support from the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association and the Vietnam - Thailand Friendship Association to boost cooperation between the province and Thai localities, agencies and organizations, opening up diverse opportunities for the two sides to boost cooperation in culture, social security, education - training, health care, investment - trade, especially digital transformation and application of technology in industrial and agricultural production.

He also suggested that the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association be interested in introducing and connecting Thai businesses and investors to Thai Nguyen to explore cooperation and investment opportunities.

Expressing his impression of the development of Thai Nguyen in recent years, Chairman of the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association Sanan Angubolkul said that Thai Nguyen is the first Vietnamese locality that the new leadership of the Association visited and worked with the desire to strengthen relations with the province.

“Recently, many pairs of provinces of Thailand and Vietnam have twinned with each other, but there are not many conditions to implement cooperation activities in a practical and effective way. During this visit to Thai Nguyen, the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association wishes to develop the twinning relationship between Udon Thani and Thai Nguyen Provinces,” he said.

He also affirmed that the Thailand - Vietnam Friendship Association will do its best to promote the people-to-people relations between the two countries, and promote economic, educational and technological cooperation, bringing benefit for Thai Nguyen Province and for the two countries./.
