UN Secretary-General congratulates Vietnam on 45 years of UN membership

On September 20 (New York time, US), United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a congratulatory message to the Government and people of Vietnam on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Vietnam's accession to the United Nations (September 20).

In his message, the UN Secretary-General thanked Vietnam for its cooperation and support for the UN's efforts in handling global challenges over the past 45 years.
He affirmed that Vietnam is an important partner of the UN, and has made many practical and effective contributions to UN peacekeeping activities. He also expressed his wish to further strengthen this relationship in the coming time to promote peace, sustainable development and human rights in the world./.
