Vietnam – Belarus relationship to be brought to comprehensive development

During the reception, he stressed that the Consulate General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City plays an important role in contributing to the two countries’ relationship. Welcoming the Consulate General of Belarus to open an office in Ho Chi Minh City, he affirmed that Ho Chi Minh City has the responsibility to create conditions for the office to operate well.

“Ho Chi Minh City is very confident that when the Consulate General of Belarus opens in the city, it will focus on further promoting trade and investment relations, enhancing exchanges and promoting cooperation between the two sides. In the short term, it is necessary to strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, education and tourism, which will serve as a long-term foundation for the relationship between the two countries. Ho Chi Minh City is very pleased to welcome the Prime Minister of Belarus to visit Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh City,” he emphasized.

Regarding the cooperative relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Minsk City, he said that Ho Chi Minh City agrees with the content framework of cooperation between the two localities in many fields necessary for Ho Chi Minh City. In order for the cooperation to be feasible and effective in each field, the two localities need to choose specific things to implement until 2025. At the same time, Ho Chi Minh City looks forward to welcoming the Chairman of Minsk City to Ho Chi Minh City for further strengthen ties between localities.

New Consul General of Belarus to Ho Chi Minh City Ruslan Varrankou affirmed that the good relations between the two countries have existed for a long time and highly appreciated the affection of the Vietnamese people for Belarus. He said that Belarus is trying to bring the relations of the two countries to a comprehensive development, and has long attached importance to Vietnam's role in cooperation. As proof of this, Belarus has decided to open an office in Ho Chi Minh City.

Emphasizing the position of Ho Chi Minh City as a major economic and financial center of the country, Consul General Ruslan Varrankou added that he believed  it will contribute to the development of the relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Belarus within the relationship between the two countries. This year marks the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations, and he said that the establishment of the Consulate General of Belarus in Ho Chi Minh City on this occasion is very meaningful. Belarus is preparing a series of cultural events to celebrate the establishment of diplomatic relations such as exhibitions and concerts, hoping to contribute to promoting bilateral relations.

Regarding the friendly cooperation relationship between Ho Chi Minh City and Minsk City, he said he hoped that the two sides would soon discuss and agree on a cooperation program in the proposed fields such as participation in projects on public transport and public passenger transport./.
