Vietnam hands over USD100,000 to Pakistan’s efforts in flood recovery

Authorised by the Prime Minister, on January 9, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Do Hung Viet handed over USD100,000 from the Vietnamese Government to the Pakistani Government in support of recovery efforts from the floods in 2022.

Speaking at the hand-over ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet wished to ease the difficulties and damage caused by floods to the Pakistani people recently; and emphasized that the Government and people of Vietnam always pay attention to and stand side by side with the Government and people of Pakistan to overcome difficulties and promote the spirit of cooperation, friendship and mutual affection between the two countries for many years.

“The donation shows the heart of the Government and people of Vietnam as well as the desire to constantly strengthen the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Pakistan, which is increasingly developing in a substantive and effective direction,” he said.

On behalf of the Government and people of Pakistan, Pakistani Ambassador to Vietnam Samina Mehtab sincerely thanked the Government and people of Vietnam for the precious attention and support, adding that the Government of Pakistan will quickly use the money donated to help and support the people in the affected areas. She also affirmed that she will continue to make efforts to cultivate and deepen the good friendship between the two countries.

After the ceremony, relevant Vietnamese ministries and branches will continue to coordinate with the Pakistani Embassy to transfer the donated money as soon as possible./.
