Vietnamese and Cambodian provinces strengthen friendly relationship

As the Vietnamese traditional lunar New Year Festival approaches, on January 10, a delegation of Cambodia’s Preah Sihanouk province led by Mr. Vong Phanat, Chairman of the Provincial Council, visited and expressed New Year's greetings in Bac Lieu province.

At the meeting, Mr. Vong Phanat wished the Party Committee, authorities and people of Bac Lieu province to welcome a happy, exciting and hopeful New Year. He said that the visit is of great significance in strengthening and further consolidating the friendship and solidarity between the people of the two provinces of Bac Lieu and Preah Sihanouk, as well as of the people of Vietnam and Cambodia.
On this occasion, he informed the leaders of Bac Lieu province about the socio-economic situation and the potential and strengths of Preah Sihanouk province. Accordingly, Preah Sihanouk province has a lot of potential for transportation and deep-water seaport, especially the province's infrastructure system is increasingly complete, creating favorable conditions for the development of the transportation and trade of the two provinces both in the present and in the future.
He added that in the context of the last few years, especially in 2022, the country and people of Cambodia, as well as Preah Sihanouk province, were greatly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, under the leadership of the Royal Government, especially Prime Minister Samdech Hun Sen, the pandemic was controlled, and people's lives and Preah Sihanouk province returned to development.
At the meeting, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Lieu province Pham Van Thieu expressed his excitement and thanked the delegation of Preah Sihanouk province for delivering Lunar New Year wishes in the province./.
