Since 1981, the Thanh Hoa Medical College has trained thousands of health workers for Laos. Currently, there are 320 Lao students and officials studying at the college.

Together with providing a creative and suitable training curriculum, the college always takes care of Lao students’ daily lives, especially their spiritual life and health.

At the time of the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, the college supported Lao students in terms of preventive measures, food and medical check-ups.

“The college always pays attention to and creates the most favorable conditions for supporting the Lao students and cadres, especially in ensuring policies, rewards, exemptions and reductions for Lao students’ fees in accordance with the regulations of the State and Thanh Hoa Province,” said Nguyen Thi Kim Lien, Head of Scientific Management and International Relations.

“The college has compiled a Vietnamese medical textbook to help students gain expertise and better understand the subject, thereby improving the quality of teaching and learning. It also assigns experienced teachers to impart knowledge to Lao students; and set up Vietnamese student groups to help Lao students in the process of learning languages as well as their major.”

Every year, the college also organizes many activities to educate students of both countries more about the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.

“After graduation, Lao students and cadres have effectively served the cause of caring and protecting the health of the Lao people,” said Mai Van Bay, Rector of the college./.
