On December 19, in Hai Phong City, the Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company under the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation signed a contract to build a new batch of 3 ships to carry oil and chemicals with a tonnage of 13,000 tons, for export to the Republic of Korea. The contract also includes the building of an additional 2 ships after completing the initial series of 3 ships.

The 5 ships will be built for the Y-ENTEC Company (the RoK).

The new ships will be 128.6 meters long, 20.4 meters wide, and 8.7 meters in draught.

General Director of the Pha Rung Shipbuilding Company Vu Huu Chien said that the signing of the contract marked the trust of Korean enterprises in the qualifications and skills of Pha Rung shipbuilders.

“This result also shows the good and trusting relationship between the two units since 2006, when the two sides cooperated together to build a new series of FM 6,500-ton and BS 6,500-ton chemical and oil ships at Pha Rung,” he added.

According to Mr. Chien, this event also marks the realization of the relationship between Vietnam and the RoK, which has recently been elevated from a "strategic partnership" to a "comprehensive strategic partnership" as announced by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc and Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol in December. The good cooperation between Pha Rung Company and Y-ENTEC and BS Tanker has been a testament to the solidarity and friendship between the two peoples.

Y-ENTEC Chairman, Mr. Park Yong Ha, shared that since 2006, Y-ENTEC has ordered new ships built at Pha Rung. And over the years, the relationship between the two units has become increasingly close. “Pha Rung has proved to be a reliable and long-term cooperation partner for our business,” he said. “Signing the contract today is an important milestone in cooperation and mutual development.”
