Bac Giang province has set a target to help businesses in the industrial parks resume production activities from July 1, aiming to obtain an industrial production value of VND8 trillion in July, about VND10 trillion in August, about VND12 trillion per month in September and October, and over VND15 trillion per month from November forwards.

Since early May, due to the complicated development of the COVID-19 pandemic, 2,532 enterprises and production and business establishments in the province have had to suspend operations, forcing over 13,500 laborers to take unpaid leave or suspend their labor contracts.
In order to quickly restore production, the province has actively guided and helped businesses build a safe production plan, ensuring preventive measures prevention. Up to now, 146 enterprises in industrial zones have been reopened and the number of employees approved to return to work is more than 22,500. There are 440 enterprises in the province that have developed a plan to pay wages for nearly 194,000 workers who have stopped working due to the impact of COVID-19.
Helping businesses address work force shortages, the province has accelerated identification of labourers with sufficient conditions for returning to work; and inspecting businesses in conducting COVID-19 testing.
In order to ensure the rights of employees during the time of having to stop working due to the influence of COVID-19, over the past time, the Provincial Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and the Bac Giang Provincial Confederation of Labour have regularly directed businesses to pay benefits to employees according to the Labour Code.
To create conditions for workers and businesses to feel secure in production, Bac Giang Province has just proposed the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to report and advise the National Assembly Standing Committee and the Government to have policies and mechanisms to support people, workers, and vulnerable people in the province in particular and the country in general in difficulty due to the COVID-19 pandemic; adopt policies on extending tax, fee and fee exemption and reduction, extending the deadline for paying tax and land rent to support businesses and individuals suffering damage from the Covid-19 epidemic; and continue to implement the policy to allow businesses to temporarily suspend contributions to the retirement fund for those affected by COVID-19./.
