(CPV) - Throughout a 72-year history, overcoming all the tests of time as well as the fluctuations of history, the friendship between the Vietnamese people the people of the former Soviet Union and the Russian Federation today have been nurtured by many generations of leaders and people, obtaining many good results.

The history also affirms that both countries consider each other an important priority partner in their foreign policy.
So agreed delegates during a teleconference chaired by the Committee for External Relations of Russia’s Saint Petersburg City on January 24, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties.
During the conference, delegates discussed outstanding achievements in cooperation in politics, economy, national defence, education-training, and via Party and people-to-people channels. They highly appreciated the great potential of cooperation between the two countries in general, and between Saint Petersburg and Vietnamese localities in particular, identifying a number of cooperation areas in 2022, contributing to promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in the coming time.
They also expressed their belief that with high determination from both sides, the Joint Statement on the Vision of Vietnam – Russia comprehensive strategic partnership till 2030 on the occasion of State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc’s recent visit to Russia will be carried out effectively, bringing the bilateral ties to a greater height for their own prosperity, and for peace and stability in the region and the world.
Attending the conference were leaders of Saint Petersburg city, leaders of the Party Central Committee Commission for External Relations, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia, representatives of a number of agencies, departments, branches and associations of Vietnamese people in the Russian Federation, and many scholars and researchers of the two countries./.
