10,000 face masks presented to Vietnamese community in Cyprus

This is a gift from the Government of Vietnam and has been transferred by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Addressing the handover ceremony, Honorary Consul Georges Christophides expressed his delight at Vietnam’s successes in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Manh, Head of the Executive Board of the Vietnamese community in Cyprus, expressed his deep gratitude for the Government’s attention to the Vietnamese community there and spoke highly of the regular support from the Vietnamese Embassy in Italy and the Republic of Cyprus for Vietnamese people living and working in the country.

On the occasion, Vietnamese Ambassador to Italy Nguyen Thi Bich Hue sent a letter to the Honorary Consul and the Vietnamese community in Cyprus.

She said that Vietnam’s successes in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 epidemic have been highly appreciated by the international community.

She highlighted the support of the Party and State of Vietnam to the overseas Vietnamese community, which is suffering from severe consequences of the epidemic.

The diplomat also praised the efforts of the Vietnamese community in Cyprus in overcoming difficulties, complying with the regulations of the host country to protect themselves and the community, as well as in spreading the fine traditional values of patriotism, solidarity and humanity of the Vietnamese people.
