19 Vietnamese citizens in Wuhan want to return home

There are 24 Vietnamese citizens currently in Wuhan (21 citizens and 3 of their relatives), 19 of whom want to return to Vietnam.

Minister Mai Tien Dung said at the regular press conference of the Government held on February 5th, when answering questions about Vietnamese citizen protection from corona virus-hit area.

In this regard, the Prime Minister has closely instructed and assigned related agencies to organize the reception of Vietnamese citizens from the nCoV - hit area and ensure their concentrated isolation for 14 days as prescribed.

“The quarantine has been assigned to the Ministry of National Defense by the Government to ensure accommodation and even equipment for television for the quarantined people to follow news,” he said.

He added that in the North, Van Don airport will be chosen to receive the citizens from the nCoV - hit areas. In the Southern and the Central regions, each will choose an airport to receive citizens back to ensure effective quarantine.

According to the Government spokesman, centralized isolation is the best and most positive solution to avoid the spread of corona virus and the Ministry of National Defense has prepared ready plans. For Vietnamese citizens who go to China to work, if they wish to return home, 7 border provinces in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the police are assigned to prepare plans to receive them.

Mr. Dung emphasized that in the concentrated isolation, the Ministry of National Defense prepares the quarantine area and material facilities, medical work supported by the Ministry of Health to prevent citizens from leaving the quarantine area./.
