55th anniversary of ASEAN's Founding Day marked in Mexico

The ASEAN Committee in Mexico City (ACMC) organized the ASEAN+3 Bazaar on August 7 to mark the 55th anniversary of ASEAN's Founding Day at the Angela Peralta Theater area in Miguel Hidalgo district, Mexico City.

The event was attended by the embassies of ASEAN member countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand.

Chief of Miguel Hidalgo District Mauricio Tabe Echartea, and the Embassies of China, the Republic of Korea and Japan were also invited to participate in the event.

After the opening ceremony, the embassies of ASEAN countries put on many musical, fashion and martial arts performances.

At the event, countries also introduced traditional dishes and exhibited handicrafts, garments, and products imbued with national identity.

Vietnam’s pavilion especially attracted the attention of visitors with traditional dishes and unique handicrafts, Ao Dai costumes, conical hats and travel books. In addition, the embassy also displayed pictures about the country and people of Vietnam.

Many guests and local people enjoyed and appreciated the richness of cultural and national identities of the participating countries.

The bazaar contributed to enhancing cultural exchange and promoting the image of the countries and peoples of ASEAN member countries, while improving understanding and further tightening the friendship and cooperation with the host country./.
