77th anniversary of Vietnam People's Army celebrated in Ukraine

A ceremony was organized by the Vietnam Defense Attaché in Ukraine, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Embassy and Vietnamese Veterans Association in Ukraine, to mark the 77th anniversary of the Vietnam People's Army and the 32nd anniversary of All People National Defense Day.

Speaking at the event, Vietnam's Defense Attaché in Ukraine Colonel Nguyen Quang Chien reviewed the 77 years of building, fighting and maturing of the Vietnam People's Army, highlighting achievements of the Vietnamese army in the two resistance wars against the French colonist and the US Empire; achievements in national defense diplomacy, including participation of UN peacekeeping operations, deploying the field hospital No. 2 in South Sudan and the Central African Republic, recognized and highly appreciated by the international community.

In addition, Colonel Nguyen Quang Chien also thanked Ukraine veterans for their help to Vietnam during the war, emphasizing that generations of Vietnamese people will never forget the great contributions.

On behalf of Ukrainian veterans, Major General Popovich warmly congratulated the ministries and soldiers of the Vietnam People's Army, and wished the Vietnam People's Army to become more and more elite and modern, and well accomplished in the task of protection of the Fatherland.

He hoped that the friendly relationship between the people, the army and the veterans of the two countries would develop and become stronger.

Chairman of the Vietnamese Veterans Association in Ukraine Nguyen Van Loan said that Vietnamese veterans, whether in Ukraine or anywhere, still maintain the quality of Uncle Ho's army, showing his character as soldiers.

Vietnamese veterans in Ukraine have actively participated in activities organized by the Embassy and the community, people-to-people diplomacy, and created a close relationship with veterans and the Veterans Association of Ukraine, making an important contribution to building a stronger Vietnamese community in the host country.

After the ceremony, the delegates watched videos reviewing the 77 years of fighting and growing of the Vietnam People's Army, and together sang songs praising the heroic traditions of the army./.
