ASEAN Ambassadors in Egypt exchange with students in Cairo

Ambassador Nguyen Huy Dung and Ambassadors of ASEAN countries in Cairo on March 19 collaborated with leaders of the American University in Cairo (AUC) to organize a seminar for students of the university.

The seminar provided information about ASEAN to young Egyptians, enhancing the image of ASEAN countries in the eyes of the Egyptian public.
At the event, Ambassador of Brunei Salimin Daud, the current President of the ASEAN Committee in Cairo (ACC), introduced the establishment and development of ASEAN over the past 55 years and the relationship between ASEAN and Egypt, and briefly introduced the countries in ASEAN and the relationship between each ASEAN member country with the host country of Egypt.
Indonesian Ambassador Lufti Rauf shared about the theme and focus of the ASEAN Chairmanship Year 2023.
The students participating in the seminar were excited to ask questions to learn about the characteristics and operating mechanism of ASEAN, especially the external relations, culture and society of the association.
The AUC, established in 1919, currently has 25 faculties and institutes for bachelor’s and master's degrees, along with 13 interdisciplinary research centers. AUC's educational goal is to encourage students' creativity and thinking so that young people find solutions to regional and global conflicts and challenges./.
