Close to 240 Vietnamese citizens in Philippines brought home

Nearly 240 Vietnamese citizens were brought home safely from the Philippines on November 30.

The flight was arranged by domestic Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, VietJet Air and relevant agencies of the host country.

The passengers included the elderly, children under 18 years old, pregnant women, students without accommodation, workers with expired contracts, and others with special disadvantages.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines sent its staff to the airport to assist them with check-in procedures before boarding.

During the flight, VietJet Air carried out safety and COVID-19 preventive measures to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.

Right after landing at Can Tho International Airport, all the passengers and crew members on the flight received medical check-ups and were sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations.

More repatriation flight will be arranged in the coming time to bring home overseas Vietnamese in disadvantaged circumstances depending on their wishes, developments of the pandemic, and domestic quarantine capacity./.
