Closing ceremony of training course on Vietnamese-language teaching for Vietnamese teachers abroad held

The closing ceremony for a training course on Vietnamese-language teaching for Vietnamese teachers abroad in 2023 was co-organized by the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the Ministry of Education and Training’s Department of Continuing Education on August 30.

Deputy Chairman of the State Commission for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs Mai Phan Dung said that in recent years, the overseas Vietnamese community has developed stronger and been present in over 130 countries and territories.
He emphasized that maintaining the mother tongue is extremely urgent and a priority in the overseas Vietnamese-related work of the commission.
“Through the course, we receive extremely valuable knowledge and we are aware of our responsibility to impart that knowledge to our children and grandchildren abroad, maintaining the Vietnamese language, the soul and the cultural identity of the nation," said Ms. Hong Hanh, a teacher from Taiwain (China), shared.
The training course, which opened on August 16, drew the participation of over 60 Vietnamese teachers from 17 countries and territories.
Held since 2013, the course has so far trained over 800 teachers./.
