In recent times, the impacts of heavy rains and storms caused severe floods in the northeastern provinces of Thailand such as Ubon Ratchathani, Loei, Chayaphum, and Khon Kaen. The flood caused a lot of damages, greatly affecting the economic and social development in the localities as well as the daily life of many households, including overseas Vietnamese families.

At the meeting, Consul General Chu Duc Dung encouraged and deeply shared with the Vietnamese-Thai community, the people and the government of Ubon Ratchathani province.

On behalf of the Consulate General, Mr. Chu Duc Dung presented gifts to 53 overseas Vietnamese households in the province that were flooded and suffered a lot of damage from the storm.

He expressed his belief that with the spirit of solidarity and mutual help in times of trouble of the Vietnamese nation, along with the diligence of families, support of the overseas Vietnamese community and local authorities, the overseas Vietnamese family victims will soon overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives and restore production./.
