Da Nang hands over friendship school to overseas Vietnamese in Laos’ Champasak

The two floor school has six classrooms, a teacher's room and an office of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in the province, including desks, chairs, black boards, and other facilities.

After 6 months of construction, the project has been completed and handed over to the Overseas Vietnamese Association of Champasak province under the witness of representatives of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Department of Education and Sports of Champasak province and the Consulate General of Vietnam in Paske.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Mr. Dong Cong Dung, President of the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Champasak, sincerely thanked Da Nang city for giving the association this meaningful school. The school being put into operation is the pride of Vietnamese people in Champasak province, a place to study not only for Vietnamese children, but also for local children. At the same time, this is also a place where overseas Vietnamese gather, exchange, together toward their homeland and country.

The school is expected to be place to preserve and promote Vietnamese language and Vietnamese culture to Lao friends in Champasak, a bridge for the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos, between Da Nang city and Champasak province./.
