First Vietnamese football tournament held in RoK

The Vietnamese Football Association in the Republic of Korea (VFAK) on November 13 successfully organized the first Vietnam Football Championship in the Republic of Korea (VFAK Champions League 2022) at Daejeon City Sports Complex under the auspices of the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK, to mark the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the RoK (December 22, 1992 - December 22, 2022).

This tournament had the participation of 18 teams and about 1,000 fans from all regions of the RoK.

In the congratulatory letter of the Mayor of Daejeon City Lee Jang-woo, he thanked the organizers for contributing to promoting the cultural diversity of the city, and expressed his hope that the players and fans would have moments of relaxation and fun together, contributing to strengthening the friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and RoK.

The Daejeon city government is committed to continuing to work together to bring a joyful and happy life to the Vietnamese community living, studying and working there.

On behalf of the leaders of the Vietnamese Embassy in RoK, First Secretary Le Van Hung emphasized the key role of the VFAK, which has been very active in community engagement activities, creating useful playgrounds to exchange, strengthen the spirit of solidarity, mutual affection, timely encourage and share difficulties and hardships in the host country.

VAFK President Doan Quang Viet expressed his hope that the tournament will become an annual event to create a healthy and useful playground for the Vietnamese community in RoK, contributing to strengthening the spirit of solidarity and building a stronger community.

Within the framework of this tournament, the Vietnam Labour Management Board in RoK and the Employment Permit System (EPS) Labour Management Office also organized a consultation counter for workers to provide information on laws, policies of residence and employment of RoK; consulting, supporting and solving problems so that Vietnamese employees can properly perform labour contracts, not violate local laws, and receive instructions for employees to declare information related to the change of place of working, renewing contracts and receiving deposits with workers who have switched to long-term specialized work visas./.
