Ms. Velagapudi Kavitha Dutt appointed as Honorary Consul of Vietnam in India’s Tamil Nadu State

The Vietnamese Embassy in India on January 16 handed over the decision to appoint Ms. Velagapudi Kavitha Dutt as Honorary Consul of Vietnam in the southern Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to India Nguyen Thanh Hai emphasized the important role of the Honorary Consul in contributing to promoting economic, tourism, cultural and people-to-people cooperation between Vietnam and India in general and Tamil Nadu State in particular, as well as implementing the work of protecting Vietnamese citizens in the consular area in charge.

Ambassador Hai expressed his confidence that Ms. Kavitha Dutt, with her experience and attachment to Vietnam, will fulfill her duties well, contributing to promoting economic relations as well as strengthening the Comprehensive Vietnam – India Strategic Partnership.

At the ceremony, Ms. Kavitha Dutt expressed her honor to be appointed as Honorary Consul, representing Vietnam in Tamil Nadu State, one of the most developed states in India and also the place to which she has the most attachment.

Ms. Kavitha Dutt pledged to do her best to help the Vietnamese community in the state, as well as promote the culture, country and people of Vietnam, promote tourism and new cooperation potential between Tamil Nadu State and other localities of Vietnam, especially in economic cooperation and people-to-people exchanges.

Ms. Kavitha Dutt is currently the General Director of KCP Group, which has experienced 80 years of operation in the fields of cement, sugar cane, heavy industrial machinery and high-tech equipment production. KCP Group has also invested 103 million USD in Vietnam, especially in Phu Yen province, mainly in sugar refining and power generation./.
