The flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, Vietnamese missions in the Middle Eastern countries, Vietnam Airlines and related agencies of host countries.

Passengers on the flight included the elderly, students who finished their study but without accommodation, guest workers whose visas and labour contracts had expired and those in extremely difficult circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassies in the Middle Eastern countries coordinated with local authorities to support the citizens to travel to the airport for the repatriation flight. The embassies also sent staff to help them complete pre-departure procedures before boarding.

During the flight, disease prevention measures were strictly carried out to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

All crew members and passengers were given medical checkups and quarantined right after landing at Da Nang International Airport.

In the coming time, more repatriation flights will be arranged to bring home Vietnamese citizens in the future, depending on citizens’ request, the COVID-19 pandemic situation and quarantine capacity at home./.
