Over 340 Vietnamese citizens brought home safely from Germany and Romania

More than 340 Vietnamese citizens in Germany and Romania have been brought home safely on November 7 and 8.

The flight was arranged by Vietnamese agencies, Vietnam Airlines and relevant authorities of the two host countries.

Passengers included children under 18 years old, students who had completed study, labourers with expired visas and contracts and others in disadvantaged circumstances.

Due to travel restrictions amid COVID-19 pandemic, Vietnamese representative agencies abroad have worked with host countries’ authorities to facilitate Vietnamese citizens’ journey to gathering places in Frankfurt (Germany) and Bucharest (Romania) to board the flight.

During the flight, security, safe and preventive measures were applied strictly to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Right after landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all passengers and crew members received medical check-ups and were sent to quarantine in line with regulations.

In the coming time, more repatriation flight will be arranged to bring Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad in line with citizens’ wishes, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity in Vietnam./.
