The flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities at home and abroad, and relevant authorities in local countries.
The passengers included children under 18 years old, students who had completed their courses, the elderly, the sick, and workers with expired visas and contracts.
The Vietnamese representative agencies in the two countries sent staff to airports in Vancouver and Seoul to help the citizens with check-in procedures before boarding.
During the flight, strict security, safety and epidemiological measures were implemented to ensure passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.
After landing at Van Don Airport in the northern province of Quang Ninh, all passengers and crew members had their health checked and were sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations.
In the coming time, more repatriation flights will be conducted by Vietnamese authorities to bring home Vietnamese citizens abroad in disadvantaged circumstances in line with their wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity at home./.
