Overseas Vietnamese and poor people in Cambodia presented 750 gifts

The Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC)'s Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs has presented 750 gifts to families of overseas Vietnamese in difficult circumstances and poor people in Cambodia on September 20 - 24.

Each gift includes 1 million VND in cash and commodities such as instant noodles, clothes, etc.

During this business trip, the delegation has visited and presented gifts to 250 households in Phnom Penh, 350 households in Kampong Chhnang, and 150 households in Pur Sat.

The total cost of gifts is 833 million VND, in which cash is 750 million VND and commodities worth about 83 million VND.

This is a practical activity to respond to the Vietnam-Cambodia and Cambodia – Vietnam Friendship Year in 2022 and celebrate the 55th anniversary of Vietnam – Cambodia relations (June 24, 1967 – June 24, 2022), contributing to consolidating and promoting the spirit of solidarity and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia in the process of development and international economic integration.

On this occasion, the delegation had a working session with the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia to learn about the situation of overseas Vietnamese in recent years, especially since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic./.
