Overseas Vietnamese in Cambodia meet to welcome Lunar New Year of the Tiger

An event was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy in Cambodia to welcome the Lunar New Year of the Tiger on January 16 with the participation of Vietnamese diplomats, businesses, expatriates and students in the country.

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Nguyen Huy Tang praised the Vietnamese business community in Laos for its hard work and the overseas Vietnamese for their support for one another given the impacts of COVID-19 last year.
On the occasion, he presented gifts to honour five Vietnamese Cambodian families for their outstanding contributions to the activities of the Vietnamese community in Cambodia and to Vietnam’s revolutionary cause.
The community support fund of the embassy in collaboration with a number of Vietnamese businesses investing in Cambodia, Vietnamese localities and philanthropists, meanwhile, committed to implementing a programme that assists more than 3,500 needy Vietnamese Cambodian households in 16 Cambodian provinces and cities ahead the upcoming Lunar New Year festival.
Chairman of the Khmer-Vietnam Association Sim Chy and representatives of participating enterprises stressed their commitment to join hands with the embassy and other diplomatic agencies in implementing policies issued by the Party and State./.
