Overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia hold football tournament to welcome Lunar New Year Festival

The Vietnamese community in the state of Selangor, Malaysia, has just organized the 2nd men's football tournament at Rean Sport Arena Sports Center, Klang, Selangor.

The tournament attracted the participation of five football teams from the capital Kuala Lumpur and Selangor State. Most of the players are Vietnamese employees working in Malaysia in many different sectors.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Hoang, Chairman of the Vietnamese Community in Selangor State, and Head of the Organizing Committee, highly appreciated and thanked Malaysian companies, businesses and individuals for supporting and sponsoring the event.
According to Mr. Hoang, the tournament aims to create a playground for overseas Vietnamese in Malaysia in general and Selangor state in particular to have the opportunity to meet, exchange, build a community of solidarity and sharing, and promote health training movement in the community as well.
A large number of overseas Vietnamese in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor came to cheer at the matches.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, five participating teams competed in a round-robin format to choose the champion team.
FC KL team from Kuala Lumpur won the championship of the tournament./.
