Overseas Vietnamese in Netherlands gather at “Shape of Vietnam” festival

More than 100 overseas Vietnamese people across the Netherlands on May 28 gathered at a festival themed “Shape of Vietnam” in Utrecht city to mark the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam – Netherlands diplomatic relations.

The festival was organized by the organizations of overseas Vietnamese in the Netherlands such as the women, intellectuals, and students’ associations.

At the square of the Utrecht central station, in the traditional costume of traditional long dress (ao dai) in red and yellow – the two colours of the Vietnamese national flag, the overseas Vietnamese showed visitors a human mosaic of the S-shaped Vietnam with Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes.

In addition, a human mosaic of the words “I love VN” also formed at the festival.

Besides, Vietnam-themed songs and dances were also performed by overseas Vietnamese to the amusement from both participants and passers-by.

This was the first time organizations of overseas Vietnamese in the Netherlands had coordinated to organize such an significant event./.
