The event is in the framework of activities marking the 57th anniversary of Vietnam – Egypt diplomatic relations (September 1, 1963 – September 1, 2020).

Speaking at the event, Vietnamese Ambassador  to Egypt Tran Thanh Cong reviewed Vietnam’s socio-economic achievements, and milestones in the relationship between Vietnam and Egypt over the past time.

He hoped that through cultural events, photos, dances and water puppet performance, Egyptian people will understand more about Vietnam and there will be more exchanges of art troupes between the two countries in the future.

This is also the best way to promote the traditional and good relations between the two countries, he said.

Ms. May Mohab, an Egyptian artist, said that she was very impressed with the photo exhibition, which helped her remember Vietnam, where she went to research and study the Vietnamese water puppet art.

She desires to come back to Vietnam when the COVID-19 pandemic ends. She also suggested the two nations enhance cultural ties through art programmes, and cooperation between cultural experts.

Refaat Khaled, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Al Mesa newspaper, said he hopes that Vietnam will reap more attainments, saying the two countries should step up collaboration in culture, economy, trade and politics.

He emphasized that Vietnam and Egypt have many fields in which to further cooperate.

At the exhibition, the participants also enjoyed art performances and traditional Vietnamese dishes./.
