During the meeting, the two sides discussed measures to further promote economic-trade cooperation and agreed on the need for coordination between the Embassy and KCCI in the coming time to strengthen connections among the business communities of the two countries, especially when the COVID-19 pandemic has been controlled and travel restrictions have been lifted.

Mr. Emad said that the prospect and potential of economic - trade cooperation between Kuwait and Vietnam is still great.

With the current turnover of the two countries of over 4 billion USD, of which the majority is oil, the KCCI side wishes to expand cooperation in the fields of non-oil trade in the coming time.

Mr. Emad affirmed that Kuwait will accompany the embassy to organize seminars on Vietnam’s business opportunities and environment in Kuwait, ready to welcome Vietnamese business delegations to exchange and promote trade in the coming time.

Due to the current shortage of supply, Kuwaiti businesses are interested in agricultural products, food such as rice, nuts, coffee and tea, and new construction materials.

Ambassador Ngo Toan Thang expressed his desire to have the opportunity to cooperate more closely with KCCI in the near future and said that he would promote Vietnamese business delegations to Kuwait this year./.
