Thailand’s CP Group continues to expand investment in Vietnam

Vietnamese Ambassador to Thailand Phan Chi Thanh recently had a meeting with senior leaders of Charoen Pokphand Group Co., Ltd. (CP Group) to discuss measures to promote investment of enterprises in Vietnam in the coming time.

At the meeting, leaders of CP Group introduced to Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh the production and business activities of the group.

Accordingly, CP is the largest agri-food business in Thailand and the fourth largest one in the world, with the main production fields including animal feed, raising broilers, pork and shrimp.

CP's first investment poured in Vietnam in 1993 through C.P. Vietnam, operating in the field of agro-industry and closed food. Currently C.P. Vietnam is the largest agricultural enterprise in Vietnam with more than 30,000 employees.

In 2020, CP Group inaugurated a chicken processing factory for export in Binh Duong with a capacity of 50 million birds/year in phase 1 and toward a capacity of 100 million birds/year in phase 2.

Mr. Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of CP Group, assessed that Vietnam is the most potential and attractive market in Southeast Asia, and committed to continue to prioritize investment expansion in Vietnam in the coming time.

The Vietnamese Ambassador congratulated the investment and business achievements of CP Group in general, C.P. Vietnam in particular, and said that the CP brand is reputable in Vietnam.

Introducing policies to attract foreign investment and investment opportunities in Vietnam, the Ambassador affirmed that foreign investment is an integral part of Vietnam's economy, including C.P. Vietnam.

The Ambassador suggested that CP Group and C.P. Vietnam continue to expand investment and business activities, use advanced technologies, and accelerate digital transformation, bringing benefits to both countries.

At the meeting, Vietnam's FPT Corporation introduced programs to support businesses in digital transformation, aiming to digitize breeding, production, processing and consumption.

In addition, the two sides exchanged measures to connect the economies and promote two-way trade and investment between Vietnam and Thailand./.
