Thailand's Saraburi province supports Vietnamese-Thai people to live and do business

A delegation of the Vietnamese Embassy in Thailand led by Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh on December 4 visited and worked with leaders of Saraburi province to discuss measures to promote cooperation between localities of the two countries in the fields of investment, trade, economy, tourism, culture and people-to-people exchanges.

On this occasion, the delegation also attended the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese-Thai cemetery in the province.

At the working session with Ms. Angkana Chitatitta, Deputy Head of Saraburi province, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh thanked representatives of the provincial authorities for attending the inauguration ceremony of the Vietnamese-Thai cemetery.

The Ambassador emphasized that the first cemetery for Vietnamese people in Bangkok and neighboring provinces, located in Saraburi, has an important meaning in encouraging and supporting the Vietnamese Thai community to look toward their roots and to continue maintaining burial rites according to Vietnamese customs and practices; maintaining patriotic traditions, toward the homeland, preserving and promoting the national cultural identity.

Also at the meeting, he discussed with Ms. Angkana Chitatitta the situation of political-foreign relations; economy, trade, investment of the two countries, as well as the need for cooperation between localities of the two countries in recent years.

Mr. Thanh was pleased to share about the Vietnam – Thailand enhanced strategic partnership, which has developed very well in almost all fields from politics-security, economy, trade, tourism, culture, people-to-people exchange and local cooperation.

Thailand is an important partner of Vietnam in Southeast Asia. Since the two countries reopened after the COVID-19 pandemic, high-level and all-level delegation exchanges resumed.

State President Nguyen Xuan Phuc's official visit to Thailand and high-ranking Vietnamese delegation attending the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha from November 16-19 was an event of special significance for bilateral relations.

Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh suggested that the province continue to support and create more favorable conditions for the Thai Vietnamese community living and working in Saraburi province; and desired the province to learn about the need for cooperation and connection with Vietnamese localities through the exchange of delegations of leaders and businesses of the province. The Embassy is ready to work closely with Saraburi province in promoting and connecting with Vietnamese localities.

Deputy Governor Angkana Chitatitta shared her joy that the Vietnamese Thai community has built a cemetery in the province. She said that Saraburi province is the gateway to the central region of Thailand, developing strongly in the fields of construction, industry and cow milk production.

The province is ready to send business delegations to visit, learn about the investment environment and build cooperation in Vietnam, especially learning about the possibility of cooperation in the fields of industry, construction and cultural cooperation exchange. The province will always support and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese Thai community to live and work in the area.

Immediately after the meeting with the Deputy Governor of Saraburi province, Ambassador Phan Chi Thanh and the delegation visited and worked at the cement factory of SCG Group in the province to learn, connect and cooperate between the two sides in the near future./.
