Traditional friendship exchange between Vietnam and Hungary

The Overseas Vietnamese Association in Hungary and the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association organized an exchange program on October 15-17 in Hajdúszoboszló city to express gratitude to Hungarian members who participated in the international delegation to supervise the implementation of the Paris Agreement on ending the war in Vietnam in the 1973-1975 period.

They are also core members of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, who have made many valuable contributions to building friendship as well as actively promoting cooperation relations between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Botz László, President of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association, recalled his memories of his participation in the Hungarian delegation to supervise the implementation of the Paris Agreement on ending the war in Vietnam in the 1973-1975 period.

He emphasized that he and his colleagues were honored to be selected as members of the delegation because it was the first time that Hungary had participated in an international mission to monitor and protect peace abroad.

During their mission in Vietnam, the members of the Hungarian delegation were especially impressed when they witnessed with their own eyes the Vietnamese people's ability to endure sacrifices and hardships with a heroic spirit in their struggle for national liberation and reunification as well as the support of international friends for Vietnam.

After successfully completing his mission and returning to Hungary, carrying with him feelings of respect, love and a desire to unite with Vietnam, Dr. László and his colleagues established the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association to spread to Hungarian people and the next generations sympathy and understanding about the country and people of Vietnam along with the traditional friendship between the two countries.

On the Vietnamese side, Vietnamese Ambassador Nguyen Thi Bich Thao acknowledged and highly appreciated the valuable contributions of the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association and President Botz László, the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Hungary and President Vu Quy Duong, as well as typical representatives in efforts to cultivate the traditional friendship between the two peoples of Vietnam and Hungary, as well as actively promote the cooperative relations between the two countries.

The Ambassador emphasized that the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Hungary organized the significant exchange, contributing to enhancing the friendship between Hungary and Vietnam.

She affirmed that Vietnam is always grateful for the valuable help of international friends as well as the Hungarian people in the cause of national liberation and reunification in the past as well as the construction and defense of the country at present.

The Ambassador wished the Hungary-Vietnam Friendship Association and Hungarian friends who love Vietnam to continue accompanying the Overseas Vietnamese Association in Hungary to contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two peoples, as well as developing the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries./.
