A VietJet Air flight brought home nearly 240 Vietnamese citizens from the Philippines on November 19.

Nearly 280 Vietnamese citizens from Europe land at Van Don Airport safely

The flight was conducted by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Philippines, VietJet Air and relevant authorities of the host country.

The passengers included the elderly, children under 18, pregnant women, students without accommodation, workers with expired contracts, and others in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy in the country sent staff to the airport to assist the passengers with boarding procedures.

To protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease, safety and preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic were strictly applied during the flight.

All passengers and crew members received medical check-ups and were sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations right after the plane landed at the Can Tho International Airport.

More repatriation flight will be arranged to bring home Vietnamese citizens in disadvantaged circumstances abroad in line with their wishes, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, and quarantine capacity at home./.
