Vietnam Airlines brings home nearly 330 Vietnamese citizens from Angola

Nearly 330 Vietnamese citizens were repatriated home safely from Angola on a flight of the national flag carrier on October 20.

The flight was conducted by Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in Angola, Vietnam Airlines and relevant Angolan agencies.

The passengers included the ill, labourers with expired contracts and those in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy sent its staff to the airport to assist them to handle procedures before boarding.

During the flights, strict security, safety and epidemiological measures were carried out to ensure passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

After landing in Van Don Airport in Quang Ninh province, all passengers and crew members were checked their health and sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations.

In the coming time, more repatriation flights will be arranged to bring home overseas Vietnamese in disadvantaged circumstances in line with their wishes, the development of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity at home./.
