Vietnam Airlines brought home safely over 340 Vietnamese citizens stranded in Australia and New Zealand due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on December 9.

The flight had been arranged by domestic authorities, representative agencies in Australia and New Zealand, Vietnam Airlines and related authorities of the host countries.

Passengers on the flight included children under the age of 18, the elderly, labourers with expired work contracts, those in extremely difficult circumstances.

The Vietnamese embassies in the host nations sent their staff to the airport to assist the citizens with all necessary boarding procedures before their departure.

Safety and preventive measures against COVID-19 were strictly applied during the flight to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.

Right after landing at Tan Son Nhat international airport in Ho Chi Minh City All passengers and crew members received medical checkups and were sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations.

In October, about 350 Vietnamese citizens from Australia and New Zealand were brought home safely./.
