Vietnam Airlines brings home over 340 Vietnamese citizens from Japan

Over 340 Vietnamese citizens were brought home safely from Japan on a repatriation flight on November 12.

The flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, Vietnamese Embassy, national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies of Japan.

The passengers on the flight include children under 18, the elderly, pregnant women, people with illnesses, workers whose contract had expired, students without accommodation due to dormitory closure and others in extremely disadvantaged circumstances.

The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan sent its staff to the airport to help the passengers dealt with pre-departure procedures.

During the flight, Vietnam Airlines strictly carried out safety and preventive measures against the COVID-19 to protect the passengers’ health and prevent the spread of the disease.

Right after landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all passengers and crew members received medical checkups and then they were sent to quarantine sites in line with regulations.

In the coming time, more repatriation flight will be arranged to bring home Vietnamese citizens in difficult circumstances abroad in line with citizens’ demand, the developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and quarantine capacity at home./.
