Vietnam and Iran coordinate to organize cultural and sports events in 2023

A delegation from the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran led by Ambassador Luong Quoc Huy recently had working sessions with Mr. Zeinalable Majid, Assistant Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Mr. Azimi Shahram, Deputy Minister in charge of international issues of the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of Iran.

The working sessions aimed to discuss the ability to coordinate the organization of cultural and sports events to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam - Iran diplomatic relations (August 4, 1973 – August 4, 2023) this year.

Assistant Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Majid welcomed the Embassy’s plans and proposals on organizing the Vietnam Film Week in Tehran, bringing a delegation of water puppet artists from the Vietnam Puppet Theater to perform in Iran, and organizing a photo exhibition.

Mr. Majid affirmed that he would work with the relevant departments of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance to support the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran to successfully organize cultural events in the coming time.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Shahram said that he welcomed the Vietnamese side’s plan to send a delegation of VOVINAM athletes to Iran to perform and compete.

He affirmed that he would exchange information with the Iranian VOVINAM Federation about the competition program and the work to ensure the delegation during the time staying in Iran.

Mr. Shahram added that the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports wanted to sign a Memorandum of Understanding with Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to promote sports cooperation between the two countries./.
