Nearly 350 Vietnamese citizens from from Australia and New Zealand were brought home safely on October 7.

Vietnam continues repatriating over 220 citizens from Japan

The flight was arranged by Vietnamese authorities, Vietnamese representative offices in Australia and New Zealand, Vietnam Airlines and relevant agencies of the two host countries.

Passengers included children under 18 years old, pregnant women, the elderly, workers whose labour contracts expired, students without accommodation due to dormitory closure and others in difficult circumstances.

The Vietnamese representative offices sent their staff to to support them with boarding procedures.

During the flight, security, safety and hygiene measures were applied strictly to prevent the spread of COVID-19 pandemic.

Right after landing at Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, all the crew members and passengers were given medical check-ups and put under quarantine in line with current regulations.

In the coming time, Vietnamese authorities will arrange more repatriation flights to bring home Vietnamese citizens, depending on their demand and quarantine capacity at home./.
