Vietnam presents 20,000 face masks to Argentina

A ceremony was held by the National Congress of Argentina in Buenos Aires on September 14 to receive 20,000 medical face masks, which is a gift from the National Assembly (NA) of Vietnam in order to help the country fight against COVID-19 pandemic.

On behalf of the Vietnamese NA, Ambassador Dang Xuan Dung handed over the face masks to the Argentinian side.

According to the ambassador, the gift comes from the sincere sentiments of the Vietnamese State and people to Argentinian friends, and demonstrates the sharing and support from Vietnam for Argentina’s COVID-19 fight.

Mr. Dang Xuan Dung highly appreciated the measures undertaken by the Government of Argentina to curb the spread of the disease in the community, expressing his belief that with the determination and efforts of the Government and the National Congress, Argentina would soon overcome the pandemic to return people’s lives to normal and revitalize the economy.

He confirmed that Vietnam will continue to work closely and share information and experiences with Argentina to quickly control the pandemic as well as to minimize its negative impacts, contributing to the long-term development of relations between the two countries in all fields.

For her part, Administrative Secretary of the Argentine Senate Maria Luz Alonso expressed her thanks to the Government, NA and people of Vietnam for their practical and significant gift amidst the pandemic.

She said that the gift is a vivid evidence of the traditional friendly relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Argentina, pledging to continue further promoting bilateral ties for the benefit of both countries’ peoples./.
