Vietnamese Alumni Club in Canada launched

The Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association recently held a ceremony in Hanoi to launch the Vietnamese Alumni Club in Canada.

The club is expected to promote the intelligence, bravery and creativity of Vietnamese alumni in Canada in promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of education.

At the ceremony, Dr. Dang Dinh Long, Interim Chairman of the club, introduced the club's birth and upcoming action programs.

He said that in the next two years, the club will organize meetings to connect members, organize a series of workshops, talk shows on education, preparations before studying abroad and especially preparing for the 50th anniversary of Vietnam – Canada diplomatic relations (1973-2023).

Attending the event through the online format, Vietnamese Ambassador to Canada Pham Cao Phong congratulated the Vietnamese Alumni Club in Canada and said that this is a very meaningful contribution to the bilateral relations.

Last year, although the COVID-19 pandemic situation was still having a heavy affect, Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on educational cooperation and bilateral exchange with the provincial government of British Colombia of Canada.

The ambassador hoped that this year, the club can have long-term cooperation and strengthen the educational cooperation between the two countries.

He wished the Vietnamese Alumni Club in Canada will always grow strongly and achieve a lot of success./.
