Vietnamese Ambassador presents Letter of Credentials to Governor General of Barbados

Vietnamese Ambassador Le Viet Duyen recently presented his Credentials Letter from President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Governor General of Barbados Sandra Mason at an online meeting.

Vietnam and Barbados promote bilateral ties

The Ambassador respectfully conveyed the greetings and best wishes of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc to Governor General Sandra Mason, the Government and people of Barbados.

Expressing his honour to be appointed as the Ambassador to Barbados, Ambassador Le Viet Duyen pledged to make every effort to further promote the relationship between the two countries in all aspects to new heights.

Right after the presentation of the Letter of Credentials, Governor-General of Barbados Sandra Mason received and congratulated Ambassador Le Viet Duyen on his appointment as Ambassador to Barbados, and sent greetings to President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Government and the people of Vietnam.

The Governor-General of Barbados announced that she will soon appoint a non-resident Barbados Ambassador to Vietnam.

Ms. Sandra Mason asked about the situation and pandemic prevention work of Vietnam. She shared her interest in combating climate change, and expressed her wish to further promote multi-faceted cooperation with Vietnam, especially in areas with potential for strong cooperation such as economy, trade, culture, education, tourism, agriculture, marine resource management and climate change fighting.

Ambassador Le Viet Duyen shared with the Governor-General of Barbados about Vietnam's pandemic prevention and control over the past time.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing cooperation relations with Barbados and believed that the Credential Presentation Ceremony would create a foundation for the relationship between the two countries to develop further in the coming time.

He emphasized that the two sides have a lot of potential that can be exploited to create a driving force to strengthen relations for the happiness, prosperity and development of the two peoples. In the coming time, the two sides can also promote people-to-people exchanges, and exchange delegations of teachers and students to visit, travel, learn and introduce about the people and culture of the two countries.

Governor-General of Barbados expressed his trust and hoped that Ambassador Le Viet Duyen would soon implement specific activities to promote bilateral relations./.
