Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Van, Vice Chairwoman of VMBIZ, said that each gift is worth 50 RM, including essential goods such as rice, cooking oil, soup powder, fish sauce and instant noodles.

These gifts were contributed by Vietnamese businesses in the region and Malaysia’s Blue Ocean Group, both in cash and in kind.

Recipients are workers who lost their jobs during the COVID-19 pandemic or those who suffered from the recent floods in Johor state.

After Malaysia reissued the Movement Control Order (MCO) in many localities to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Van said that many Vietnamese workers would be affected.

Vietnamese businesses in the region will also face more difficulties, even facing the danger of closing down, but VMBIZ members will still make efforts to join hands for the community, and continue to mobilize more participation from local businesses to increase strength and cohesion./.
