Vietnamese film screened in Tanzania

“Yellow Flowers on Green Grass”, a Vietnamese film, was screened by the Vietnamese Embassy in Tanzania and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, on December 23.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Tanzania Nguyen Nam Tien thanked relevant agencies and units of the two countries for their active cooperation to introduce the beauty of the country and people of Vietnam to the public in Tanzania.

After 35 years of carrying out the innovation cause, Vietnam’s economy is ranked 41st position in the world, and it is evaluated as a country with stable politics, ensured social order and security, a reliable partner of international investors, a peaceful country with beautiful nature and hospitable and friendly people, the ambassador said.

The ambassador highly appreciated the cooperation friendship between Vietnam and Tanzania since 1965 when the two countries established diplomatic relations.

Vietnam and Tanzania always believed and supported each other in the development cause of Vietnam. The bilateral trade and economic relations achieved encouraging growth. Viettel Tanzania (Halotel) Joint Venture Company and Vietnamese businesses buying Tanzanian cashew have made important contributions to Tanzania’s social – economic life   

With the long-lasting history of Vietnam’s film industry, the Vietnamese Ambassador said that film partners of the two countries could cooperate and share development experiences with each other.

In terms of the film “Yellow Flowers on Green Grass”, Ambassador Tien believed that the audience will have clear feeling about the country and people, cultural life of Vietnam, thus opening exchange and cooperation opportunities about film between the two countries.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Kiagho Bukheti Kilonzo, Executive Secretary of the Tanzania Film Council, on behalf of Tanzanian Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Innocent Bashungwa, highly appreciated and congratulated the Vietnamese Embassy for screening the film "Yellow flowers on green grass".

Dr. Kilonzo said that the film screening was a bridge connecting culture and art and wished that the cultural and artistic exchange relations between the two countries would continue to be maintained and developed stronger in the coming time.

Dr. Kilonzo emphasized that the Tanzanian film industry wishes to expand international cooperation, including Vietnam.

The screening attracted a large number of foreigners and Tanzanian people, especially Tanzanian artists, including famous actors, directors, film producers, and models./.
